FIRST STEP : THE MARRIAGE LICENCE
All persons who intend to get married in New York State must obtain a Marriage License.
The fee for a Marriage License is $35 by credit card or money order payable to the City Clerk.
1. Start the application online https://www1.nyc.gov/cityclerkformsonline/\
2. Complete the process by appearing at the Office of the City Clerk in person, together and at the same time.
3. Bring your ID
SECOND STEP : THE MARRIAGE CEREMONY
The marriage ceremony may not take place within 24 hours from the exact time that the license was issued. A marriage license is valid for 60 calendar days, beginning the day after it is issued.
How much does the license cost?
The fee for a Marriage Ceremony in the City Clerk's Office is $25 by credit card or money order payable to the City Clerk.
Couples must have at least one witness over the age of eighteen present at the wedding ceremony (the witness must bring valid identification).
